Swimming in beautiful salad greens right now! We have some lovely fall lettuce & Asian greens because we made the decision to not rescue a block of tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers this summer that got too weedy during the heatwave. It was a matter of where to spend our time. Small farms were making difficult decisions all over I imagine. @newwestfarmers and @abbotsfordfarmandcountrymarket for Salad mix, Salanova (pictured), Red Sails (large leaves good for lettuce wraps), along with winter squash, Sieglinde potatoes (a.k.a German Butter), baby beets and more! 💚 The Abbotsford market runs till the end of the month and the New West Market wraps up on November 4.A week ago I was helping to bring in more winter squash. (this photo). Today I was harvesting greens in the rain. We have cover crops germinating in various blocks.💚🌱 Our market season and our CSA are continuing strong into the end of this month. I've been enjoying a little more disconnection from being online lately. Thought I would give a brief update here though. We are taking care of our new fall crops (kale, beets, lettuces etc.) and enjoying the fruits of some that are still producing from the summer (tomatoes, eggplant).
